Prayer Request

My new friends

Just wanted to drop a note to all of my new friends standing for their marriages. TET, Dana, JM, Sheree...I haven't heard much from you lately. I still pray for each of you and your spouses. I know it is hard. My divorce is still going forward but I haven't stop praying. I pray for the salvation of my Lisa. The Lord knows the love in my heart for Lisa and He knows I want my marriage restored. I don't know what His will is but I know I will accept it. It may not be what I think I want but I know it will be what the Lord wants for me and the plan that he has for me. That doesn't mean it won't hurt and be hard. That's why I continue to pray many times per day. Besides praying for Lisa, I pray that the Lord comfort me and take away the fears that run through my mind. I pray for my kids. I pray for guidance and help with knowing what to do. I thank the Lord for the many blessings he has already bestowed upon me. I thank Him for the changes he has made in me. I will stand for my marriage until the end. I will always pray for my Lisa. I will continue to pray for all of you and your spouses. Let me hear from you. I would like to know ho each of you are doing.

TET...I remember you quoting Joel Osteen in a previous post. Are you from Texas like me? He lives in the same general area that I do.

Oh Lord, continue to hear our prayers. We pray that you are working in the hearts of our spouses. We pray for guidance as we all go through an experience that is unfamiliar to us. We pray that you set our feet in the right direction and help us to always do the right thing. We pray that we know how to accept Your will. Lord, thank you for walking with us. In Your name we pray. AMEN.

Hi there, sounds like you have a praise report. If you are willing it would be great to hear your testimony as it could encourage us current standers. If not that's ok too & totally understand.

Heavenly Father, I add my faith to these prayers and ask that You will continue to mend the broken hearted.....Father, where marriages need to be restored, do so in Jesus Name. Remove all those things in us that are unlike You....Help us Father to continue to pray for one another feverently as the enemy is working overtime...as usual...Encamp angels about these prayer warriors and friends, and let no weapon formed prosper....

Bless all those not as fortunate as us Father. Hold us up in times of tribulation and reveal to us Your plan for our lives....Thank you Father for the many blessings bestowed on us, those seen and unseen, known and unknown. In Jesus Holy and precious name, Amen.

Amen

I have to agree with TET and Dana...it seems we have all begun to lose hope at the same time...and right after we all "met" and started praying for each other. I have no doubt in my mind now that you two have spoken about it too...that this is the work of the enemy. It seems just a short while ago we were seeing such positive changes and so full of hope...and now well...not so much. It's become so hard to stand as strong as we once did. But, as the others have said...we must not lose hope. We must not give up...because that's exactly what the enemy wants. He has set out to destroy us...and will win if we let him. We must not let him win. We must continue to support each other, lift each other up in prayer, and try to be strong against all of these forces against us. It's not easy by any means. But, we are all here to support each other, and lift each other up.

Father, You know the concerns of our hearts right now. You know the battles we are facing. You know the hopelessness we are feeling. Please forgive us for our lack of trust...for our anger...for our hopelessness. Please draw us back to You and strengthen us, and give us courage to continue. Please remind us that the battle is already won, and You have already claimed the victory. The enemy will NOT win...for You have already won. May Your good and perfect will be done in each of our lives, and may You give us the wisdom and the strength to accept it.

In Jesus Name.
Amen.

You know what Tet? Maybe you hit the nail on the head, that the enemy has worked overtime in us & our situations, cause it is obvious that we began praying in unity in spirit if not in the physical for each other.

I say we all begin again to pray against the enemy!

Tet, Dave, Sheri, JM, Myself.....

Okay kids!
"Lord please hear our cries we are trying so hard to be strong. We alone can do nothing but only through Christ who strengthens us. Lord please please give us all and extra extra measure of faith. Forgive us all for our discouragement of feelings, our feelings of despair and perhaps from time to time feelings of unbelief. Lord we are all wanting our prodigals salvations so much, and we all so desire our marriages to be restored. We are asking in agreement that you would please hold us up with your right hand. Protect us and our families and our prodigals. Help us to not be sad (our spirits are willing our flesh is way weak) help us to know that if we believe and do not doubt you will do what we've asked. (Paraphrased obviously) Lord we are all asking 2 wills of you, Salvation for our unsaved prodigals, and our marriages to be restored. Your word says you'd have none to perish but come to repentance, and that you hate divorce and what God has joined together let man not separate. So please hear our prayers. If it's your will to let each of us see a little hope it would be appreciated. But if not help us not to loose our hope. IN Jesus Name Amen."

Thanks Dave for the update on you. Well, I guess all of us are either busy with work or just depressed with what is going on with our marriage. I guess we all have our moments. Funny thing though, we are all loosing hope. I guess, Satan is really working on us. Maybe our prayers for each other bother's satan so much that he really is working on us to really loose the faith and be discouraged. But we are all standers here no matter what satan does. Yes, it's hard to really be strong and to hold on. But we musn't give up.We really need to fight a good fight. As for my case, the divorce is still going through. Though I don't still have a court date yet (thank God for this!!) But just like the others, my husband Jim doesn't want to do anything with me anymore. He really is firm that this marriage will not be saved (well, that's waht he told our family counselor whom we are seeing; not to save the marriage, but to help our young kids ages 8 and 6 with this ordeal) I still thank God that we still live in the same house with our children and my mother-in-law (it's me against two!!) but it's really hard going to a home without the love and peace with each other. Even if he is as cold as ice, i still do my responsibilty and duties as his wife and mother to our children. He said that he's not having an affair (who knows!!!) that he just fall out of love. I pray for him everyday that he will repent. I always pray for you guys too everyday. There was one time that I dreamn't of all of us meeting with each other (ofcourse, I didn't get to see your faces, but heard your names) and it was a wonderful meeting. Who knows, maybe in God's time---this would truly happen!!! I still get depressed sometimes and just like I always say, when I feel that way, I check this site and look for you guys and for other people who are standing in their marriage. Reading your replies, prayers, testimonies, helps me recover from the state of sadness. It enlightens me and brighten my day.

Dave, sorry to say that I'm not from Texas. I'm from Northern California, by the way. A co-worker and a christian friend of mine recommended me to register to Joel Osteen's website. And I'm glad that I did. Because everytime I have questions for the Lord, Joel Osteen's Today's word gives me the answer and this really helps me go on with my day.

Dana,
Thank you for the prayers for the loved ones you posted. I printed it out and have been including it to my daily prayers.

So to all our friends and other new comers, let us join together in prayer that all of us standers, will remain standers in victory for the healing and restoration of our marriage. Sorry for the long post. Just keeping intouch with you guys.

I've been off work & not really on a computer much as I don't have one of my own.

thanks Dave for your prayers. I do pray for all our prodigals & us standers as well.

I myself am pretty beaten down, My husband still says he wants out, gets mean (verbally), Its so hard cause till May he was so loving. I pray & pray, and now I'm so tired all the time. Feeling sad, it's so hard. I have to really try and pray for the Lords will, but my flesh only wants what it wants. My husband saved & marriage restored. It's hard to stop caring & loving him.

I continue to pray for you all and feel in my heart what all of you that are in broken marriages are going through.
Sheree, the book you suggested by Dr. James Dobson, was a real eye opener for me also years ago. The spouse that desires to leave is usually being "mean spirited", as they are feeling guilty on usually having an affair. You can not put up with a spouse that is not being faithful. When this happened to me, I took the chance to "release" my husband. Oh this was hard, but all the pleading, crying, and yes even praying was not working. I needed peace in our home and peace in my heart. I couldn't have a conversation with my husband, so I wrote him a letter. I released him from the marriage and really released him then to God. I know this does not work for everyone (as Dr. Dobson says, however it did work for me). Within 5 days he admitted he was having a affair (which I knew), and said he would seek counseling and wanted to restore our marriage. It was easy for me to forgive ... however not so easy to forget this betrayal. However with God's help I did. By the way this was on our 25th wedding anniversary so there was no celebration! However months later we did renew our vows. The scripture also says "if an "unsaved" spouse wants to leave, we can not force them to stay", ...releasing brings peace to all. God will guide and provide.
Father God, I pray for those who are going through the difficulty of a spouse wanting to leave the marriage. I pray for hearts to be mended. In Jesus name ... amen
