I found out recently that a Christian friend (so I thought) had an affair with my husband. She led me to believe that she was so much, my best friend and God brought us together. She also goes to our Church Recovery Group. She was at at our Church Recovery Group (while I was in the hospital after an overdose over this affair) and brought up that she had nothing to do with my husband. My husband admitted that the affair took place and she wanted him to lie. I spoke with Pastor who told me she denies the whole thing and we told him she was not telling the truth. I am so distraught over this whole thing. Pastor was suppose to confront her with this issue, but I did not hear back from him, and the Recovery Group was tonight. I feel like it might be time to find another Church. It seems that Pastor is unable to confront things that need to be taken care of.He is head leader of the Group at Church. I just can not go back to the Group, and she was there at Group tonight. I can not be in the same room with her. I am deeply hurt!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!!
I am very sorry about the situation you are in I will keep you in my prayers. I will pray for you to have the courage and strength to make it through this and ask the Lord to provide you with wisdom to know what to do during this time.
Thank You so much Michael for responding and to the others as well.Michael you understand completely. I am glad I heard from you all.I still have not heard from my Pastor. One day I will have to talk with him soon and tell him that I am hurt that I haven't heard from him and how important it was to me that he was going to do what he said he would. I am sure though that this ex-girlfriend will never admit to her wrongs.. She will answer to God!!!!!!!!!I totally agree with you Michael about having the confrontation with all of us present!!!!!
I am glad that my husband admitted what happened even though I am in DEEP PAIN. Now at least I know this person who I thought was a friend is NOT to be trusted EVER.
Thanks to you all. I would like to keep hearing positive info.God Bless You All!!!!!!!
I'm sorry Cathy for the deceit and betrayal of a so-called friend who you've entrusted your world with. I can understand your reluctance to have anything to do with the recovery group, and the pastor's inability to bring both parties together for reconcilliation and restoraton of hurt feelings. I would advise you to ask your husband to attend this recovery group, along with you and your ex-girlfriend, for the soul purpose of him supporting you in front of this adultery, where he can confess to you and her, and the pastor in front of all witnesses, that the affair did in deed take place, and that he's sorrowful and repentful to you and wishes to make amends to God and you for violating your trust and marital vows. This would be so therapuetic to you and to your husband to confront this problem face to face with humility and forgiveness. This would prove to you the deepest commitment of your husband to make things right with you and God, and restore what you once had. I could go on and on about reasons you should befoghting for this marriage, and the most important one is that your husband confessed the infidelity to you. Lord, I pray that cathy has the strength and wherewithal, to embrace forgiveness in the face of hurt and shame. I pray that her Pastor step up to the plate and do as pastor'e should do, and that is to be a restorer of broken and hurt souls. In Jesus' name I pray. *AMEN*
I know because I've been there. In time you will get on with your life and this too shall pass. That is what the chaplin told me when I was recovering from a 17 hour brain tumor surgery. At the time of both these incidences it felt like it was never going to end, but it does, just somethings we have to go thru in this fallen world. God knows how to take what the devil meant for evil and turn it around for good, yes, I know, it's hard to believe right now , but I guarantee it's true, God guarantees it's true, so go thru it with all the grace you can, and someday you will see it come to pass, and He will say to you, well done my good and faithful servant! Show her Father, just what she is capable of, bless her in the name of Jesus, amen&amen,
Dear Lord, we pray for Cathy and ask that you will help her draw strength from this incident. Dear Lord, we ask that you also guide as to what she should do next. In Jesus Name We Pray Amen.
