just a few passages to get us started

Malachi 2:16
"I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.

1. Matthew 19:1
[ Divorce ] When Jesus had finished saying these things, he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan.
Matthew 19:1-3 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter)
2. Matthew 19:3
Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?"
Matthew 19:2-4 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter)
3. Matthew 19:7
"Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
Matthew 19:6-8 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter)
4. Matthew 19:8
Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
Matthew 19:7-9 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter)
5. Matthew 19:9
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
Matthew 19:8-10 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter)

Lord thank you for your word, we ask that you would sew this truth of your word in all the prodigals hearts, You can do all things. Even if they've not actually "heard" your words with their ears. You can place them in their thoughts. Please allow all the prodigals that are attempting to leave their marriages to feel so uncomfortable, until they come to you for salvation, and return to their standers as the spouses you desire them to be. In Jesus Name Amen.

Thanks Sheree. The lesson here should be "I once was lost (without the knowledge of God's will for my life), but now I'm found (I've studied, to show myself approved) was blind ( didn't know the rules of marriage, as it relates to God's covenant) but now I see (after the fact, when all came tumbling down) I turned to God in prayer, and He lead and guided me in His word. This is why it is so important to put God first, in ones life, and then all the rest shall be added. Without God, we build our homes on sand, and when the winds of arguments comes, down comes the home, and all the life long dreams and hopes for a stable family. Put God first saints, and we can better minister to the needs of others, for we shall have experience and maturity in spiritual things, and can be an effective vessel that God can use to minister to the needs of others. *AMEN*

thank you
