Prayer Request

Message Date
My marriage
JM
May 27 2008

This is my first time on this site...and I really need to ask for your prayers.
My husband told me last night that he wants a divorce.
Let me start at the beginning.
We are 1 week away from our one year anniversary.
During the past almost year of our marriage...we have been through some VERY rocky times...but we have always somehow pulled through them.
Yesterday early afternoon, my husband and I got into a fight. Out of anger I blurted out something my husband's brother had said to me about him (my husband). My husband didn't believe that his brother would say such a thing and called his brother to verify.
His brother denied saying it, told my husband to give me the phone, and yelled at me before finally hanging up on me.
After fruitlessly trying to talk with my husband, I left the house.
I returned a couple hours later, and that is when my husband told me he wanted a divorce.
He told me that his brother never wants anything to do with me, and that he cannot be married to somebody whom his family cannot stand (mind you, I get along perfectly with the rest of his family...and up until yesterday his brother and I got along perfectly as well).
He has told me that if I make ammends with his brother that he will reconsider, but does not guarantee anything.
He told me that he still loves me, still kisses me, still holds my hand, and even still asked me to go to a movie with him this evening. I know this is his way of comforting me, and helping me through this...but it still hurts and feels like a knife has just been plunged through my heart. I just don't understand how he can leave me when he says he still loves me.
To make matters worse we are in an apartment lease until October, and neither one of us has anywhere else to go...so although he wants a divorce, we are still living together.
I have done nothing but cry for the past 20 some hours. I can't eat. I couldn't sleep last night. I feel so weak, and lost. Sometimes I feel like I can't even breathe.
I truly don't know what to do...and believe it will take a miracle of God to put my family back together. I don't believe that any of this is coming from God...as I believe God hates divorce.
I'm asking that you please pray that God would open my husband's heart that divorce is not the answer. Please pray that God would open his brother's heart to accept my call, my apology, and be willing to talk things through and come to some sort of peace.

Dear Lord,
Please hear the cry of JM as his husband has told her he wants a divorce. Just like me Lord, my husband had filed for divorce to end our 8 years of marriage. Lord, please work miracles on our behalf. Sent out your Holy Spirit upon JM's husband so that he may realize that what he will be doing is not the right way. Help him realize the importance of marriage. Keep JM strong as she's facing this trials in her life. Let her not loose faith in you. Please restore and heal this marriage because we know that you hate separation let alone divorce. Soften JM husband's heart and let him not to think of divorce becuase it is really painful. I feel for you JM as you are going through this. I am hurting as much as you. Sometimes I want to give up. But believe that our God is almighty and is bigger than us. That he will move mountains and lead us to victory if we choose to believe in the Lord. Just lift up everything and take one day at a time. In Jesus name, amen.

Prayer For JM.

Lord, since JM believes that it takes a miracle to deliver her out of this mess, then we're believing with her for your miraculous healing power to descend on her marriage situation with her husband and brother. Empower his devotion to be toward your covenant agreement in marriage to you and to his wife first, and let the husband's brother take a back seat to his wife's needs. In jesus' name I pray. *AMEN* PS, please agree with me on my post below yours on being RESTORED AND RENEWED!
