i am 73 yrs old and a victim of hurricane Katrina from new orleans, la. I lost everything because i lived in the lower 9th ward my home was totally destroyed and it was paid for. i had no insurance (flood or homeowner) because i am on a fixed income of 735. per month and my heart and diabetic medicine cost a lot. i have relocated to Lafayette,La and has yet to return to see my home I do desire not to return to New Orleans because I am scared to live in the lower 9th ward. my daughter has a home in new orleans had to quit her job there because i refuse to go back to be honest Go Back to What. Memories of my children growing up, a place i made home for, if i go back who knows i may not make it to see everything i lost. i left with the clothes on my back.OH BUT HOW I AM SO BLESSED BECAUSE GOD STILL HAS ME. Anyway i am renting a house the rent is 900.00 per month but i love this house the owner won't sell it yet but i am praying for this house it's not fancy just what i need i know God will give me more for what i lost but i am praying the man will sell the house and a price i can afford my daughter is helping me but she is paying for a house in new orleans she can't live in and her flood insurance was cancelled before the hurricane.
