As times are tough, many of us are measuring the amounts of "haves and have nots." However, sometimes less means more. Hardtimes brings me closer together with friends, new friends and loved ones as I practice stewardship. I have found that in times of hardship Gods love shines through. I lean on him with all of my heart, mind and soul. He gives me hope as I have faith in his plans for me. The worst of times can be the stepping stones leading to the best of times. Hardship should not take the joy out of my season. A few years ago my sister and I made a pact to have a home made Christmas. All gifts exchanged had to be home made. Recieving loved ones help and home made gifts are priceless. Quilts made from outgrown baby clothes, bouquets of dried wild flowers, a hand written/painted card, cookies, family photo's and labors of love are wonderful gifts. Mowing lawns, washing cars, cleaning and baby/pet sitting can be gifts of service deeply appreciated. But the most important gift is the gift of prayer As I pray for my loved ones. I am thankful,as I remember God's gift, is his son and the great service of his life. Jesus gives his gift of providing the means of everlasting life.- An Early Seasons Greeting.
