Philippians 4:14-19 Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 But it was right and commendable and noble of you to contribute for my needs and to share my difficulties with me.

15 And you Philippians yourselves well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up [a debit and credit] account in giving and receiving except you only.

16 For even in Thessalonica you sent [me contributions] for my needs, not only once but a second time.

17 Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].

18 But I have [your full payment] and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. [They are the] fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.

19 And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

I know many Christians that use verse 19 all the time. They say, "God shall supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory". Did you notice how this reads? Paul said that to them because of the gift that they had given Paul. Not that Paul was looking for a gift but Paul was looking for them to be blessed because of the gifts they gave to Paul.

When you give your money to help spread the Word of God then God credits that to your account. God remembers and starts looking for ways to bless you in return. That is why Paul could say that God would meet their needs. Check it out. Verse 19 starts with an "and". These are not two separate thoughts. The gift pleased God and God will meet your needs. It was all one thought. When you go out of your way to meet Gods need of financing the Gospel then God will go out of His way to meet your needs.

Galatians 6:6-10 New Living Translation (NLT)
6 Those who are taught the word of God should help their teachers by paying them.

7 Don't be misled. Remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow! 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. 10 Whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters.

When you give into the Work of God you are setting yourself up to receive a harvest of blessings. Now some people want to tell you that you will get a spiritual blessing, or that you will receive a reward in heaven. Well yes, that is true but that is not what this verse is talking about. It says in this verse "as you sow, so shall you reap". If you sowed money then expect to reap money.

The Philippians meet Paul's need, so Paul could honestly say that God would meet their needs. Paul knew that they would reap what they had sown into him.

Now when you reap you always receive more then what you sowed. A farmer does not plant one seed and expect to get one seed back. No, a farmer expects to reap more. The farmer has to live on what he reaps. You need to do the same. Expect a harvest every time you give money into the Kingdom of God. Expect that God will meet abundantly meet all of your needs. Not just barely, but abundantly with overflow.

Mark 4:20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
20 "And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold."

When you give, believe God for thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold return on your giving. Now take a moment and ask God how much you should give to Free Bible Email.
