1 John 4:15-18 New International Version (NIV)
15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
God dwells in believers. As you grow in the knowledge of God's love you will become fearless. It won't be that you have overcome your fears. You just wont have any fear. God is already dwelling in every believer. So what do believers have to fear. Is anything too big for God? Besides, what is the worst that can happen to a believer? They die and go on to be with Jesus. Heaven is a far better place than this life is. Hey, Jesus didn't call it paradise for nothing.
Luke 23:43 New International Version (NIV)
43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."
Look, your future is so bright you have nothing to be afraid of. The worst that can happen to you is you go to paradise early. Now that is not so bad.
Don't sweat the small stuff. Stay focused on what will matter 5,000 years from now. Stay focused on doing the work of God and everything will work out just fine.
Speak the Word:Father, I am focused on the things of heaven. I am focused on the work that You have given me to do.
