Matthew 16:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
What does "the Christ" mean? Christ is the Greek word for Messiah. But even the word "Messiah" is unclear to most of us. So let's take a look at it.
"Messiah" means "the anointed one and His anointing". So what does "anointing" mean?
Isaiah 10:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
The anointing is the power of God that removes burdens and destroys yokes. Now, we are working on defining the word "Christ". Just to make it clearer let's replace the word "Christ" with "the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens".
Romans 1:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 8:1 New International Version (NIV)
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens Jesus,
Romans 8:35 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
35 Who will separate us from the love of the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
I have taken every verse that has the word "Christ" in it and exchanged it for "the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens" and put it on the Free Bible Email web site. Take a look at it. You will see things about who you are in "Christ" that you have never noticed before.
Speak the Word:Father I am in Christ. I have burden removing power in me through Jesus. Nothing can separate me from your burden removing, yoke destroying power of God.
