12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
Have you ever seen a movie where a spaceship has its shields up? The ship has this bubble that surrounds it on all sides. The ship is protected from top to bottom and all the way around it. Well that is how God is with you. God is surrounding you with a shield of favor. Your shield of favor covers you from top to bottom and all the way around you.
Proverbs 16:7 New International Version (NIV)
7 When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD ,
he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.
As your enemy hits your shield of favor they will eventually become your friend(s). Maybe you have a boss at work that is really difficult to get along with. Now notice this verse "When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD". The Lord is pleased when we walk in love even with our enemies. The more you walk in love with your difficult boss the more that boss will hit your shield of favor. As your boss hits your shield of favor God will make him to be at peace with you. Walk in love with those around you. Let God's shield of favor protect you.
Speak the Word: Father, I walk in love with everybody in my life, including the people that are difficult. Thank you for making my enemies to be at peace with me.
