Philippians 4:15 New International Version (NIV)
15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;
Are you involved with "giving" and "receiving"? God has been involved with giving and receiving ever since He created the earth.
Genesis 1:28 New International Version (NIV)
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
God created the earth, placed Adam and Eve on the earth and then God gave the earth to man.
Genesis 1:28-30 New International Version (NIV)
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it-I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
Not only did God give Adam the earth, God gave Adam and Eve every living thing on the earth. In exchange, God wanted a relationship with man.
Genesis 3:8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day...
Adam and Eve recognized the sound of God walking through the garden. It was not something new. It was not the first time that they had heard the sound. Adam and Eve recognized God because God had spent time with them. God was involved with giving and receiving from the creation of the earth. Should you be involved in giving and receiving?
Speak the Word: Father, I can receive everything I need through giving and receiving. I will look to you for what I should give so that I can receive everything I need.
