John 11:35 New International Version (NIV) Jesus had emotions, but Jesus was not controlled by His emotions. Your soul prospers when you have control over your mind, will, and emotions. Now having control over your emotions does not mean that your have no emotions. It means that you are not controlled by your emotions. The Word of God controls a man or woman of God, not their emotions. Your emotions are the results of what you meditate on. As you meditate on what you do not like about somebody, the more you will dislike that person. The more you meditate on what you appreciate in someone the stronger your affection will be. Getting control over your emotions has to do with training. The more time you spend thinking about the Word of God and how it applies to your life. The more you think about ways that you can do what the Word of God says you should do the more control you will have over your emotions. In fact you will find that you start liking what is good and right and you will have a growing dislike for sin and what is evil in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 10:5 Amplified Bible (AMP) Speak the Word: Father, I have control over my emotions. I meditate and 'do' what the Word says I should do. My emotions are lining up with your Word. Copyright © 2008 Free Bible Email Bible Version Copyrights are available at our web site: |
