Thousands of families are going through some very difficult financial times. Financial stress is extremely painful and it can wreck your life and tear your family apart if your are not very careful. I know first hand what it is like to suffer financially, I can honestly relate to what people are going through . Our family has gone through a complete financial meltdown over the last few years. We lost our business, our income, all of our investments our kids collage fund, our retirement, even our cars. Our credit has been completely trashed. Every ounce of financial security, every financial resource is gone, everything worked for over the last 20 years is gone.
We have been through a spiritual, emotional and financial meat grinder, our marriage of twenty years has been stressed to the max and our children have also been affected. Our financially quality of life has been stripped down to an unimaginable and uncomprehendable lowest possible level, the entire experience has been devastating, very painful and extremely difficult on all of us.
The first thing I tell people is that money and material things can always be replaced. Going through financial difficulties can be devastating for sure, but It can also be a very positive thing if you let it. Do not use a financial barometer as your gage to security, happiness and wellness. If you are healthy, if your wife and kids are safe and healthy count your blessings, everything is going to be fine! Do not view your situation as the end of the world, it is very temporary and in most cases will turn out to be the most positive thing that has ever happened to you.
Recovering for us has been like putting a square peg in a round hole, but we are doing it, and in a big way. Thankfully, our family is still together! We are safe, healthy and stronger than ever. We have gained so much more than we have lost. I am a much better person now, a better husband and a better father. We have all grown into much better people. As strange as it may sound I am thankful for this experience and for what we have gained from it.
My experience has allowed me to see life from a totally different perspective. Because of our financial hardships we are living totally different lives now. Not only has it changed who we are spiritually and personally, but also who we are financially.
It has forced me to open my mind up to new ideas, to seek new ways to generate income. It has connected me to new people and new opportunities, doors have opened up that I never thought existed and is allowing me to reach out to others to bring hope and encouragement.
Its amazing to see what we thought was a disaster turn out to be such a blessing.
Proverbs 11:25 says, the generous will prosper and be satisfied; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Financial Miracles do happen! Don't lose hope!
