Prayer Request

Message Date
God's will

I need to ask for prayers for dicernment. Lately I have been "feeling" as if God is asking me to stop fighting and allow my husband to go through with the divorce. I have had suspicions that my husband has cheated on me...and (unless I am misunderstanding) it says in the Bible that sexual immorality is a Biblical reason for divorce. Every God-given leader in my life (including the pastor who married my husband and I) has told me to divorce him. I have stood firmly on God's word that He hates divorce. However, now I am beginning to wonder if maybe God is speaking to me, and telling me it is ok to leave him, and allow him to go through with the divorce he asked for.

I have been fighting so hard for reconciliation, and I do not want to divorce my husband. I want to do God's will...but I don't know if this would be His will, as I don't know how He could be calling me to do something that in the Bible He says He hates. I don't know if this is the voice of the enemy, or if I am just reluctant because I don't want my marriage to be over.

Please pray that God would guide me and make it perfectly clear what His will is, and that He would give me the strength to follow it.

I would have to say follow what your heart is telling you not the words of others. Seek the Lord alone, seek his word, pray pray pray, be still & listen.

I've heard from other very Godly Christian woman that
adultery is a just cause for divorce, however, it is also a chance for forgivness.

I heard a testimony, actually a couple, that the men cheated and the woman forgave the men, the marriages restored. Also, I heard a testimony that a woman was actually knowingly ironing a shirt for her husband to wear on an outing with his mistress. Then she asked her husband if she could rub his feet. That marriage was also restored.

I'm just saying, yes adultery is an biblical reason for divorce, however, it's also biblical to forgive.

Not sure if this makes sense, and it's just my thoughts and testimonies I've heard.

I still believe that you should seek the Lord for what he tells your heart.
