It pleases the heart of the FAther for individuals to cry out to HIM. There is no other name but the name of his son Jesus that sets us free from sin. A "real" Christian (as you refer to), is a individual that admits they have sin in their life, and ask Jesus to forgive their sin, and then not WANT to repeat the sinful life. As you ask Jesus to forgive you .. HE DOES. He takes your sin and cast them away, never to be remembered by HIM any more. Father God I pray for YOUR perfect peace to come upon this individual. In Jesus name .. amen
