Sometimes I am so mean and impulsive-I need to tame my tongue and humble myself to the Lord Jesus, Jesus, who I love because You are so patiend and kind, slow to anger and quick to forgive. Jesus, today I need Your forgiveness, for the unkind things I say and do that hurt others. Make me more like You Lord. Help me Lord to act and think more lovingly. Me a mere woman, I find myself on my knees everyday, because I struggle to survive in this sometimes viscious world. That is why I sometimes lash out, I guess. I feel homesick for You Lord, please come quickly!
...and he want hold on to grudges and hatred forever, yet he will instantly forgive us our sins, for that is how deep His love is. God did an unthinkable thing with Saul, he raised him up ( a persecutor of the Christians) to become Paul, the one who would take his message to the Corithian church, the same church where the holy spirit was poured out upon them, and everyone spoke in tongues. We can only see the outter appearance, God sees a man's heart, as he saw the young boyishness of David's heart over all of his brothes. Pray that God's will be done in yours, and my life, and the lives of others. And God shall add the increase.
Here is something I saw on another support prayer group I belong too.
1. As you study the lessons that David left for us about this we must notice first that
David made a decision that he would not sin with his mouth. (Psalms 17:3) Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
2. He prayed for it when he understood it was vital to his success. (Psalms 19:14) Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
3. He used praise to keep his mind on the Lord. He also had the revelation that praise must be always found in his mouth. Your words always produce the manifestations of their content. (Psalms 34:1) A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
4. He made a specific decision and effort to watch his confessions. The Lord will work with you to keep your lips. (Psalms 141:3) Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
5. He kept his words righteous with nothing coming out of them that was opposite the will of God. (Proverbs 8:8) All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
In says in God's Word that we ALL sin and fall short of His glory. We are all sinners. Thankfully we have a good and gracious God who loves us and is merciful to forgive us EACH and EVERY time we sin...all we have to do is ask. It says in His Word that whenever we repent, he removes our sin as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more. He holds nothing against us. Praise the Lord that we are able to come humbly before Him, confess, and be washed cleanly again!
