I too, like you am depressed and thats why I came searching for this site. I know faith is of the utmost importance and along with that remember we have been given the mind of christ for those who believe.
Job was a righteous man without a pattern of submitting to his fleshly desires yet God allowed him to be sifted by satan. why? So God's glory could be revealed for all of mankind. What was Jobs response? Though He slay me I will trust in him. We have all made poor choices and sometimes choices that adversly affect us are made by those we love. I believe the root of depression is anger at the inability to change our circumstances. Anger has to be directected at someone and usually it's pointed at GOd in an open or inadvertant way.
WE believe God could'nt possibly care about us or why would he allow us to go through such misery? He hung on a cross subjected to shame and humiliation as well as physical and emotional torture yet looked to the Father in faith. Willing to do His will.
Then where does that leave us ? Same place.
Either we live by faith trusting God to deliver us , or we live by dependance on our own resources to get us out of the mess we find ourselves in.
He may not deliver us when we think He should, but we must trust that He knows our thoughts and heart, and we can be assured His intentions toward us are GOOD.
