1 Peter 4:12-14 New International Version (NIV)
12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
Don't fall apart when tribulations hit your home. They will come. Jesus said in John 16:33 that tribulations will come. Not they might come or that he hopes they won't come, but that they will come. So get ready. Seek God now, so that when tribulations come, you will be ready.
It sounds weird to rejoice when you are suffering. Isn't it normal to complain, to make sure that everybody knows how much you are suffering? Yes that is normal, but God is not asking you to act like everybody does. God is asking you to act the way God acts. Rejoice even when life is hard.
Why should you rejoice?
Galatians 6:7-9 New International Version (NIV)
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
By rejoicing you are sowing to the spirit. If you rejoice you will live in zoe, the God kind of life, life everlasting. You will have peace, joy, prosperity, health, etc. You will be totally satisfied. You will have the victory. So, focus on walking in love, no matter what happens to you.
Speak the Word:Father, I am going to rejoice. I am going to walk in love. I am going to reap the God kind of life.
