Deuteronomy 30:19-20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

19 "I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

20 by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them."

This verse holds the key to living life to its fullest. Did you notice it? If you get a hold of this it will be the most exciting thing you have ever seen. Living life to its fullest, could you find anything better than that? Man, does that sound good to me.

Imagine sitting in a rocking chair out on your porch. Rocking away on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Bright billowy clouds floating by. As you reflect on your life, you sigh a sigh of joy. It is finished. You have run your course with excellence. You have accomplished everything God set out for you to accomplish. You reflect on the good times. You remember those times when it was rough and God bailed you out. You remember those times in Church when the worship was soo sweet, soo good. Your children are your pride and joy. You have enjoyed their company over the years. You reflect back on just how good your life was.

Do you see it? That is what this verse is about. This verse is about having an abundant joyful God filled life. It is about having the good life and not having any sorrow with it. So, how do you get the good life? Love God, obey God, and cleave to God. It is simple. The good life is not hard. It is not complicated. It is in your reach. You can have the good life and everything that comes with it. Why wait? Get started today. Love God. Obey God. Cleave to God.

Speak the Word: Father, I want the good life. I love you. I obey you. I cleave to you. You are my life and surly goodness and mercy follow me every where I go.
