8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
We have been talking about "Think, speak, and do". One of the reasons we need to think about the Word, speak the Word, and do the Word is because of deception. Satan's primary weapon against us is deception. Let me show you what I mean.
John 8:44 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
44 "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
The world will tell you that lying is ok. So tell me is lying ok? You have to realize that with out the Word of God the world is deceived. The world is convinced that a little white lie is "OK". Just check out the TV, Radio, and the Movies. You will find countless examples of people lying. The world is expressing to you how they view life. If you expose yourself to the beliefs and ideals of the world, you will eventually begin to believe what the world has to tell you.
Just look at what happened with our morals since TV was introduced. In the 50's there were many things you could not say on TV. Today they can say almost anything. In the 50's people were fully clothed. Today it seems like they are trying to show as much skin as possible. Gradually they have exposed us to increasingly more things. The world is working on desensitizing us to sin. Sin becomes so common place that it eventually becomes legal to do those things the Bible clearly calls sin. Deception is when you call what is evil good and what is good evil. When you make sin legal, you have made evil out to be good and acceptable.
That is why we must "think, speak, and do" the Word of God. If we don't we will think the way the world thinks. We will begin to call evil good and to say that what is good is now evil.
Speak the Word: Father I am not going to fall for the deception of the Devil. I am going to Think the Word, Speak the Word, and Do the Word. I am not deceived!
