Hebrews 12:1-3 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 Therefore, seeing we also are compassed about by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider Him that endured such contradiction from sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

When you are tempted, consider Jesus. Think about Jesus on the cross. God did not use gold or silver to redeem you with. God did not use land or possessions although God owns them all. God gave Jesus to purchase you back. Oh how precious you are to God for He gave His only begotten son for you. God gave his best. When you are tempted, consider the price that was paid for you.

"Lest you faint in your minds" We need to consider, think upon, and ponder about Jesus because the battle is in our minds. You see the victory is in Jesus. It is in the blood of Jesus. It is in reverence for the sacrifice of Jesus. The victory is in what Jesus bore for us.

Isaiah 54:4-5 New International Version (NIV)
4 "Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame.

Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.

You will forget the shame of your youth

and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.

5 For your Maker is your husband-

the LORD Almighty is his name-

the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;

he is called the God of all the earth.

Jesus took our suffering upon Himself so that we would not have to bear it ourselves. Do not allow this world to burden you with its problems. The blood of the Lamb has redeemed you. You are no longer burdened by those problems so cast them upon Jesus, for He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Speak the Word: Father I cast my cares on you. When I am tempted, I set my mind upon Jesus.
