Galatians 6:6-9 New International Version (NIV)
6 Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor.

7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Giving is an expression of love. When someone teaches us the Word of God it is an expression of God's love for us. God raises up men and women to edify and strengthen us. When we financially support those who teach us we are expressing our love and appreciation for what we have received. Let's take a look at verse 6 from some other translations.

New American Standard Bible (NASB) The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.

Amplified Bible (AMP) Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support].

New Living Translation (NLT) Those who are taught the word of God should help their teachers by paying them.

Now take a look at verse 7

Galatians 6:7 New International Version (NIV)
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

When you sow love you will reap love. When you give your money to those ministries that are feeding you spiritually then God will reward you.

Notice how strongly the Holy Spirit put it in this verse "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked." If you give into a ministry that is teaching the Word of God, then God will reward you. You will reap what you have sown. When you sow a financial seed into a ministry you will reap a harvest. God will bless you financially.

We are not among those who are deceived. Some think it is foolish to give money into a ministry or for the work of God. But they do not understand love. When you love God with all of your heart, mind, and strength, then you will want to give money to support God's work in the earth.

Speak the Word: Father, I give my money to those ministries that are teaching me the Word of God.
