Psalm 91:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness--trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

What is the center of your affection? What do you spend your time thinking about? Is it God?

Matthew 22:37-38 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
37 And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' (Deuteronomy 6:5)

38 "This is the great and foremost commandment.

You know sometimes we act as if stealing, killing, raping, etc. are the worst sins we could commit. But Jesus did not put those at the top of the list. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to Love God with everything you have. It is more important to keep the greatest commandment - Love God with everything - than to keep a lesser commandment - do not kill, do not steal, do not covet your neighbors wife, etc.

Now, if God is #1 in your life then naturally you will not break the other commandments. But did you notice our priorities? We usually do not think in terms of "Love God" as a greater commandment than "Thou shalt not kill". We need to adjust our thinking. We need to put God first place in everything.

Speak the Word: Father I love you with all of my heart, soul, and mind. Lord you are the focus of my life and I give you everything I have.
