Hebrews 9:14 New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
14 But Christ offered himself to God without any flaw. He did this through the power of the eternal Holy Spirit. So how much more will his blood wash from our minds our feelings of guilt for committing sin! Sin always leads to death. But now we can serve the living God.

"It happened weeks ago but I just can't let it go." Have you ever said that? I have. I can think of times were I blew it and for weeks I used to feel bad about it. I would rehearse it over and over in my mind. I would think of all of the different ways I could have done it better or how I could have…

Do you know it is a wrong to do that?

1 John 1:7-9 New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
7 But suppose we walk in the light, just as he is in the light. Then we share life with one another. And the blood of Jesus, his Son, makes us pure from all sin.

8 Suppose we claim we are without sin. Then we are fooling ourselves. The truth is not in us.

9 But God is faithful and fair. If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure.

If I trust that God has forgiven me then I will stop rehearsing it in my mind. I will stop going over and over and over it. I will believe that God has made me pure.

Philippians 3:13-14 King James Version (KJV)
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Don't get stuck in yesterday's mistakes. Press towards tomorrow's victories. Don't stop with yesterday's failures. Run after the prize of the high calling of God in Christ (the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens) Jesus. When you get consumed with the business of helping to remove burdens in other people's lives you will purge the memory of your own sins.

Speak the Word: Father I press towards the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I purge the memory of my sin by serving the body of Christ.
