Genesis 2:16-17 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
16 The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely;
17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."
Disobedience to God causes suffering. Adam and Eve did not suffer in the Garden of Eden. Suffering entered the earth when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Once they disobeyed God death entered the earth and with death came suffering. Jesus will put an end to all pain and suffering.
Revelation 21:3-4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.
4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.
God's commandments are there so that you can live an abundant life. Love, joy, peace, satisfaction come from obedience to the commands of God. Suffering, pain, death will cease only when sin has ceased. So, get a head start on it. Live holy today and enjoy the full benefits of your salvation.
Speak the Word: Father, I am living my life according to your Word. I am striving to obey everything you have commanded in the Word of God and I receive a life of love, joy, peace, and satisfaction.
