Mark 12:29-31 New International Version (NIV)
29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' 31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Have you ever wanted first place? Maybe you used to run track. You would go out for practice everyday. During practice you would work hard at improving your speed. You would push yourself until you had nothing more to give and then you would push harder. You were striving with everything you had so that you could take first place.

Is that what it means to love something with all of your strength? What does it mean to love God with all of your strength? What are you good at? How can you use your natural talents to benefit God? Are you a good cook? How can you use cooking to glorify God? Are you a good teacher? How can you use your teaching ability to glorify God? Are you an artist? How can you use your art to glorify God? Make a list of what you are good at and find ways to use them for God's glory.

I knew one lady who was a great artist. She would take a piece of ply-wood and paint people and animals on them, cut the plywood to the shape of the painting, and put it on display. For Christmas she made a Christmas scene that was excellent. For her Church she made this great display of children singing. The kids loved it. She was using her natural talents for the glory of God.

Use your talents for God. Be a blessing to your Church and to the Christians you know. You shall not lose your reward.

Mark 9:41 New International Version (NIV)
41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.

Speak the Word:Father I serve you with all of my natural ability. It is my honor and pleasure to serve you and I will not lose my reward!
