Hebrews 2:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
14 ...by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil-- 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

Fear of death is the master fear. All fear, in one way or another, comes from the fear of death. Fear is a form of slavery or bondage and it will slow or even stop your faith from working. Faith and fear are opposites. Faith is a confident expectation of things desired. Fear is a confident expectation of things not desired. When you eliminate the fear of death then you have broken free of the slavery of fear. Fear cannot drive you this way or that if you are not afraid of death.

The key is in the love of God. When you deeply and personally understand how much God loves you then you will no longer fear death. Death is the doorway that leads you to heaven. No more pain. No more suffering. When you have no fear of death you can boldly do everything God has called you to do.

Acts 4:18-20 New International Version (NIV)
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. 20 For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."

Peter went from being a coward to being bold as a lion. Peter denied that he knew Jesus three times the night before Jesus was crucified. Now we see Peter boldly proclaiming the Gospel. Peter was touched by the love of God. Let the love of God touch your heart and you will be bold and courageous.

Speak the Word:Father, you loved me from the foundations of the world. Your love has washed all my fears away.
