1 Corinthians 13:4 Amplified Bible (AMP)
4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
Kindness does not come naturally to me. Kindness is something I have to work on. In looking at the different parts of love we will find some areas that come natural and some areas that we will have to work on.
Kindness will open doors you could never open yourself. I started learning kindness by bringing two apples with my lunch. I would eat one and give the other away. I would try to give the apple to the person I felt God wanted me to give it to.
Suddenly this company started laying people off and I was one of them. I prayed about whether I should just leave or fight for my job. I felt like God was letting me choose so I decided to fight for my job. I asked for a demotion, from sales manager to a sales person, instead of being laid off. In the end the VP let me stay on with the company. I believe a big part of that was because of the kindness I had showed previously. Go out of your way to practice kindness, you never know when it will payoff.
Speak the Word:Father, I will be kind to those around me. I deliberately work on extending that extra bit of kindness to those around me.
