1 Thessalonians 5:22 Amplified Bible (AMP)
22 Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever form or whatever kind it may be.

What is "evil"? What we call "evil" today is very different than what was considered evil a few years ago. Carla and I recently went to a movie that was rated PG-13. After about a half-hour we left, because of the sexual/sensual content in the movie. A few years ago the same movie would have been rated "R". In the 50's, they might have considered it indecent.

What we call "good" and "evil" has changed, but has it changed for the better? Do we live in a brighter, healthier, more joyful world? We are more comfortable, but are we more like Jesus or have we become consumed with our own wants and desires?

Matthew 6:24 Amplified Bible (AMP)
24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).

God has not changed His mind about "good" and "evil". The world has their eyes on themselves instead of on God. The world's view of "good" and "evil" has changed to suit their opinions and desires, but we have been called to live above that.

Matthew 5:48 Amplified Bible (AMP)
48 You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Be all that God has called you to be and you will live a prosperous, joyful, exciting life. You will live a life that you will not regret!

Speak the Word: Father, I serve you with all of my heart, mind, and strength. Father, I live in honesty, purity, and integrity.
