Philippians 4:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 Not that I am looking for a gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your account.

How is your heavenly account doing? Is it overflowing and bursting at the seams? When you sow to the Spirit, you are making deposits into your heavenly account. When you do the right thing, especially when the pressure is on you will be blessed. In fact, the greater the pressure the greater the deposit into your account. Let's take a look at a verse where Jesus talks about your account in heaven.

Matthew 6:19-21 New International Version (NIV)
19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

You know, sometimes I have to stop and put things into perspective. I will be on earth for just a few years, maybe 100 years if the Lord tarries, but I will be in heaven for thousands of years. If I consider what will be important in heaven and stay focused on those things, then this life is easier and less stressful. All of a sudden most of things I normally stress over are not very important. Suddenly, the salvation of people I know becomes a lot more important.

For example, if I am focused on serving God, then it makes the rough spots at work or at home a lot easier to deal with. It makes the light afflictions of this life tolerable. Get busy laying up treasure in heaven. Walk in love. Serve other Christians. Financially support Christian ministries and your church. You will soon find that your life is overflowing with blessings that you do not have enough room for all of them.

Speak the Word: Father I will walk in love and I rejoice in all the wonderful blessing you are pouring out on me.
