Recently we talked about how the word Christ means - the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens. If you need a refresher on this then please visit our web site and read Christ - Removing Burdens.

Let's take a look at how this verse changes when we insert our definition for "Christ".

Romans 1:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens, for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,

The good news of Jesus is that God will remove burdens and has the power to remove burdens. The first burden that Jesus removed in your life was judgment or hell. Once somebody has received Jesus they are no longer headed to hell. God forgives all of our sins and removes a huge burden from off of our shoulders.

Hell is not just some summer vacation. It is not something that lasts for a while and then you get on with life. Hell is forever. Jesus came to remove that burden from your life. Have you let Jesus into your life? Have you let Jesus remove the burden of guilt and sin from your life?

Romans 10:8-11 New International Version (NIV)
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Say this prayer with me: I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died for me on the Cross of Calvary, bearing my sins for me. I believe that He rose from the dead and is alive right now. Dear Lord Jesus, come into my life, now! Come into my heart now. I believe in my heart, therefore I say with my mouth that Jesus Christ (the one who removes burdens and the power to remove burdens) is my personal Lord and Savior. I am right now, born again!
