John 13:34 Amplified Bible (AMP)
34 I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.

Love is not an option. Love is not a good suggestion. Love is not some good idea that we should try to do. Love is a command. Jesus has commanded us to walk in love. In the following verses the word "love" has been replaced with the word "I". Take a close look at what God has commanded us to do.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
I (through God's Love that is shed abroad in my heart) endure long and I am patient and kind. I am never envious nor boil over with jealousy. I am not boastful or vainglorious. I do not display myself haughtily. I am not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride). I am not rude (unmannerly). I do not act unbecomingly. I (through God's Love that is shed abroad in my heart) do not insist on my own rights or on my own way, for I am not self-seeking. I am not touchy, fretful, or resentful. I take no account of the evil done to me. I pay no attention to a suffered wrong. I do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness. However, I rejoice when right and truth prevails. I bear up under anything and everything that comes. I am ever ready to believe the best of every person. My hopes are fadeless under all circumstances. I endure everything without weakening. I never fail.

I keep a copy of this hanging at my desk. If I slip up I can stop and read it to myself out loud (sometimes under my breath). Get started today. Walk in love and you will never fail.

Speak the Word: Say the above verse (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) out loud.
