Hebrews 11:1 King James Version (KJV)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Bible "hope" is a confident expectation. A confident expectation is something you know with out any doubts. You have no question about it. But we do not use the word "hope" that way. We use the word "hope" as if we are uncertain about the outcome. "I hope it does not rain tomorrow." We do not know if it will or will not rain tomorrow. We would like it not to rain or we hope it will not rain. Faith is not that way. Faith is convinced, certain, with out a doubt about the outcome. Let me show you some other verses that use the same Greek word that "hope" was translated from.

2 Corinthians 1:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

1 Timothy 4:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

1 Timothy 6:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

In these three verses the word "trust" came from the same Greek word that "hope" was translated from. But do you see the confidence, the expectation in these verses? Take another look and your faith will take on substance. "Now faith is the substance of things trusted for"

Speak the Word: Father I trust you. I trust your word. I am confident that I can have everything the word says I can have. I can do everything Your word says I can do. I believe that God will do everything that the Word says God will do.
