James 1:2-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Hebrews 6:12 New International Version (NIV)

12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Now that is a strange thing to say, "count it all joy when you fall into various trials". The natural thing to do is to complain, whine, and cry when faced with trials, but the Word says that we need to count it as joy. Why would you count it as joy? Well, it depends on what you are facing. If you were facing a health problem, then you could count it as joy because...

James 5:14-16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

The sick person can rejoice because the prayer of faith will heal them. Somebody who has a financial need can rejoice because...

Philippians 4:19 Amplified Bible (AMP)

19And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

The person with has a relationship issue can rejoice because...

Proverbs 16:7 New International Version (NIV)

7 When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD ,

he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

You can count it as joy because you believe what the Word of God promises. You see, when you have faith in God's Word you will not worry about trials. You can rest in the knowledge that God has already provided a way out for you. So, let your faith and patience work for you and...

James 1:2 New King James Version (NKJV)

2 ...count it all joy when you fall into various trials.

Speak the Word: Father, I count it all joy when I face trials. I count health, finance, and relationship trials as joy because I trust that you have provided for me.
