2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
A sound mind is one that is calm, well-balanced, disciplined, and has self control. You have been given a sound mind. Love and power develops a sound mind. As you grow in the power and the love that God has placed in you, you will have greater, peace, calm, discipline, and self-control. You will be developing a sound mind.
Do you somebody that is paranoid? There fear has clouded there mind to where they no longer can clearly perceive their life. Fear will cloud your mind so that you are suspicious of everything and everybody. Fear will keep you from walking in love. Fear will stop you from giving. Love gives. Fear takes. Paranoid people take, and protect what they have. Now I am not advocating foolishness. Don't leave your house or your car unlocked. I am just trying to point out that fear is overly protective. Fear is overly cautious. Don't let fear stop you from completing your destiny or reaching your destination.

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Speak the Word: Father, I will not let my heart be troubled. I will not let my heart be afraid. Your peace is with me and I have a sound mind.
