John 14:23-24 New International Version (NIV)
23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
Jesus died on the cross for you. He forgave all of your sins so that you would not perish in hell. He rose from the grave, is seated at the right hand of God and intercedes for you. Jesus demonstrated His love for you through the cross. Do you love Jesus?
Obeying His teachings will be the best thing you will ever do. The moment you commit to keeping the words of Jesus is the moment your life will turn around. That is the moment your life will stop being tossed about by crisis and storms. That is the moment you started to pursue God's dream for your life. It's the moment you began to fill with joy, love, and peace. That moment was a critical turning point in your life. It all started the moment you choose to obey everything Jesus taught.
Keep the commands of Jesus and some day you will sit on your porch looking at those billowy clouds floating in the brilliant blue sky. You will sigh peacefully as you reminisce about the good years of your life. Those were the years that you served God with your heart. Those were the years when you fervently loved the Lord. Those were the best years of your life.
Speak the Word: Father I love you. I obey you with all of my heart, mind, and strength. These are the best years of my life.
