Mark 11:24 New King James Version (NKJV)
24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The moment you have prayed for something is the moment you received it. Here, let me show you what I mean. Let's say that you and I are talking on the phone. And I tell you "the checks in the mail". At that moment you "believe that you have received". It may take a few days for the check to get to you but it is yours. The moment you pray, God will begin to answer your prayer. Sometimes it will take a few days before the answer shows up. God will go to work the moment you ask Him to.

Sometimes God answers prayers in ways we don't expect. I had a job I hated so I asked God to give me a job I loved. Before long I noticed that I loved the job I used to hate. God did not give me a new job. He showed me how to love the job I already had.

You may have asked God for something that is contrary to the word of God. Someone might pray to marry so and so. But that person is married. God will not answer that prayer because it does not line up with the Word of God.

You must take action. Let me show you what I mean. Everybody knows how to lose weight. Ultimately losing weight is a matter of eating less and exercising. Everybody knows that. But how many people lose when they want to? Only a few people actually lose weight. To lose weight you must take the appropriate action. Well prayer is the same way. For God to answer your prayer you must take action. You must act like you "believe that you have received" your prayer. You must act like God said yes. You must act like "the check is in the mail". Hey when God says "the checks in the mail" you better believe "the checks in the mail".

Speak the Word: Father, Your word says "Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." I ask you for…. and I believe that I have received. I believe I receive. In Jesus Name. Amen.
