Hosea 4:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge,

I also will reject you from being My priest.

Since you have forgotten the law of your God,

I also will forget your children.

Knowledge starts with knowing the Word of God. The answer is in the Word of God. In verse 6 God is talking to people who have rejected knowledge, they have forgotten the law of God. Now, I want you to notice what is happening here. These people are being destroyed because they have rejected the Word of God. The knowledge this verse is talking about is the knowledge that comes from knowing the law or the commandments.

When I was in my early teens I thought that the commandments of God were hard to keep and I did not always understand why we should keep them. Carefully consider what God is saying here. The commandments of God will make you strong. God's commandments will keep you from being destroyed. Being lead by the commandments of God will let you live a full and prosperous life.

5 A wise man is strong and is better than a strong man, and a man of knowledge increases and strengthens his power;

Speak the Word: Father I am a student of the Word of God. The Word of God influences my decisions. The Word of God is leading me in a full and prosperous life.
