Hebrews 6:19 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast…
Bible "hope" (a confident expectation) will make you sure and steadfast. Have you ever seen John Wayne sweat it out. Did anything ever make John Wayne afraid? Was he ever scared? Well, at least not in the movies. John Wayne was always sure and steadfast. You can be that way. You can be sure and steadfast. It is all a matter of "hope".
Hebrews 6:17 talks about how God has given an oath and verse 18 talks about how God cannot lie. Your "hope" is based on these two unchangeable facts. God has given you an oath (the word of God) and God cannot lie. God's promises are more certain than gravity.
Hebrews 11:3 The Message (MSG) 3 By faith, we see the world called into existence by God's word, what we see created by what we don't see.
Gravity, sunrises, and everything in this physical world were made by the Word of God. If the Word of God was not "sure and steadfast" then neither is gravity. Have you ever said "Be careful you might float into outer space!" That would be silly. Your "hope" is rooted and grounded in something more certain than gravity. Your "hope" is rooted and grounded in the Word of God.
Speak the Word: Father my "hope" is the anchor of my soul (mind). I am both "sure and steadfast" because I trust you. I trust the Word of God.
