Although this is not new...the Lord has laid it on my heart to request prayer for this...
My husband has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. This means that the left ventricle of his heart is englarged, meaning it takes more work for his heart to pump enough blood through his body. He used to be very active in sports...but when this was discovered, he had to stop all sport activity for the sake of his heart. He refuses to go to the doctor now, and will not talk about it with me. A little over a year ago, one evening, completely out of the blue, he started talking about what I should do should something happen to him. Of course I was taken aback by this. I later found out that his heart had been beating faster than normal, and he'd had a visit with his cardiologist who told him that several months following he would need to have another visit and possibly open heart surgery. As I said, that was a little over a year ago...and he hasn't returned to the doctor since (at least not that he has told me about). When he was first diagnosed, he was given medication, which he took for a short while, and then stopped taking it...refusing to take any more (he is a person who doesn't like any form of medication, and refuses to take even Tylenol-type medication). He currently has a pace-maker. He is young, 27...however, after research on the internet, I discovered that the life expectancy for an individual with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is 45. Heart problems know no age. Look at Tim Russert. He died of a heart attack at 58. I am concerned for my husband, and I ask that you please hold him in prayer. I know God can do miracles and heal his heart completely. I know that God can enable him to surpass the life expectancy of someone with Cardiomyopathy...for God's timing is not our timing. I know that God can open his mind and give him the will to go to the doctor. I know that there is nothing God cannot do. And I ask that you please keep this in your prayers.
May the Lord touch the heart of your husband JM, and heal him of this condition. May your husband be willing to call on the name of the Lord to ask in prayer the same as we're requesting for him, so that God can do it for His all's sake, and His glory. In Jesus' name I pray. *AMEN*
Lord please show JM's husband his need to go to a doctor, and give the doctor(s) wisdom on how to treat him. Lord we ask that you please heal him astounding the doctors, so that you may get the full glory. In Jesus Name Amen.
JM, you and your husband are in our prayers. Lord, please help JM's husband see the need to go to a doctor. Lord, help him realize there are so many people who love him and want him to be around for a long time. Lord, please bless JM for the awesome love she has for her husband. Give her the skill and the wisdom to help him realize what the right thing to do, is. Lord, we pray all of this on Your name. AMEN.
