Matthew 12:7 New International Version (NIV)7 If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

In this verse, Jesus is reminding the Pharisees that God desires mercy and not sacrifice. Jesus is quoting from the Old Testament and is trying to reveal the heart of God to them. God is expecting them to emphasize mercy rather than sacrifice.

Now, God would never ask us to do something that He is not going to do himself. God would never ask us to focus on mercy if He was going to focus on sacrifice. No, God is focused on mercy. God desires mercy. God will have mercy on us.

Matthew 7:7-12 New Living Translation (NLT)
7 "Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. 9 You parents--if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

12 "Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

I want you to know that it is God's will for you to be healed. God is not looking for sacrifice. God is looking for the opportunity to show you mercy. Do not run from God. Run to God and you will find the mercy of God waiting for you.

Is it God's will to heal you? Yes, God is a merciful God. God is willing to heal you.

Speak the Word: Father, I believe that you are a merciful God. I believe that mercy is your will. I believe that it is your will to heal me from the Crown to the Ground. In Jesus name.
