Luke 4:1 New International Version (NIV)
1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert,

Did you notice who led Jesus into the desert? It was the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit leads you into the desert don't stop and turn around saying "That was not God". That was God leading Jesus into the desert and if God is leading you into a desert you need to follow.

Acts 16:9-10 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
9 A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

10 When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

God called Paul to preach in Macedonia. It was not long after Paul arrived that he was beaten and thrown in jail because he delivered a woman from an evil spirit. How would most of us react at this point? We had been diligent to serve God. We had followed the command of God when He said "go to Macedonia". Here we are obedient servants of God. Doing only as God has asked us to do and we were beaten and thrown in prison for it. Would I have rejoiced because I had been counted worthy to suffer for the Gospels sake? Yet Acts 16:25 says that Paul and Silas were praying and singing in the middle of night.

Sometimes life can get difficult. It can get rough. When it looks hopeless, do not give up hope. When you have been treated unfairly, do not grumble at God. When everything appears to be going wrong do not quit. You could be in the center of God's perfect will for your life.

Now matter what happens always remember what it says in the back of the Bible. You win!! You get the crown. You will walk on the streets of gold. You will be with God and God will wipe every tear from your eyes.

Speak the Word: Father, I praise you and glorify you. God orders my steps. I follow your leading and guiding, even if you lead me into a desert place.
