Ephesians 2:8-10 New International Version (NIV)

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

You are "God's workmanship". God has been working hard, Jesus has been working hard, so that you could do good works. God saved you and forgave you so that you could live a life of Good works.

Now, you have a choice. You can live your life for God or you can live your life for yourself. God did not save you so that you could just go out and do your own thing. God will allow you to do just that. You can live a life full of sin, but you will be miserable. You could live your life focused on yourself, never hurting anybody, but never fully serving God. Again, you will be miserable. The only way to be truly satisfied and fulfilled in life is to serve God.

John 15:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

So get in on all of the grand, the glorious, the magnificent things that God has planned for you. Serve God with all of your heart, mind, and strength and you will be overflowing with unstoppable joy. Joy that will be with you in the good times and tough times. Joy that will reach every part of your life.

Some people are hesitant to give up worldly pleasures in order to serve God with their all. What they fail to see is what those pleasures are costing them. The momentary pleasure is costing them lasting joy. It is costing them the experience of living life to it's fullest.

How do you describe the mountains to someone who has never been in the mountains, or the beach to someone who has never been to the beach? You can't. How do you describe a color picture to someone who has only seen black and white photo's? You can't. How do you describe fullness of joy to someone who has never fully given their lives to God. You can't. Some things can only be experienced, and this is one of those. It comes only when you give your life wholly to Jesus and live for him.

Speak the Word:Father, I give my life totally to you. I will not hold anything back from you.
