2 Corinthians 7:2 New International Version (NIV) 2 Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.
Do you realize who wrote that verse? The Apostle Paul (called Saul before his conversion). This is the man who hunted down Christians to have them killed because they believed in Jesus. This man stood by and gave his consent to the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7:58). This is the man went from house to house searching for Christians, only to drag them off to prison. Paul was so zealous that he got letters from the high priest and set off for another country just so that he could persecute the church (Acts 9:1-2). How could he say "We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one."? Paul was a forgiven man. Paul understood what it meant to have his sins forgiven.
Psalm 103:11-13 New International Version (NIV) 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
Paul knew that God had pity on him and had removed all of his sins. The old man was dead and that Paul now lived his life to the glory of Jesus Christ. Paul knew that by the blood of Jesus, he had become the righteousness of God.
Speak the Word:Father, you have forgiven my sins. You have cleansed me of every sin and unrighteous act I have ever committed.
