1 John 4:16-17 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

Let's take a look at the progression here.

"And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love,"The first step is to know that God loves you and that God is love. When you know how much God loves you, it will change you. It will change the way you think. Why worry? God loves you, and no matter what happens everything will work out. The knowledge of God's love for you becomes the foundation for your entire life. You will become as solid as a rock.

"and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."As you understand more about God's love for you, you will find it easier to love others. It will be easier to love people who are nasty or difficult. You will become more and more like God as you learn how to love other people.

"Love has been perfected among us in this:"Your love is made perfect through loving other people. Love is an action, not a feeling. The more you act in love towards others, the more your love is perfected. Love is perfected by doing the right thing, even when it is hard to do.

"that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world."As you grow in love you will also grow in boldness. You will realize that nothing can touch you. Those things which do touch you, will not be a big deal to you. You will be so focused on walking in love, you will barely notice the bad things that happen to you. Love will become a shield or a buffer protecting you from the problems in the world around you.

Speak the Word:I choose to walk in love with everyone around me. I am perfecting my love walk so that others can see Jesus in me.
