Mark 5:36 New King James Version (NKJV) 36 ..."Do not be afraid; only believe."
Fear will stop God. It will stop God from blessing you, or healing you, or giving you what you need. In this verse Jairus was just told that his daughter was dead and not to bother Jesus any longer. Jesus said to Jairus "Do not be afraid; only believe". If Jairus had gotten in fear and told Jesus to go away his daughter would not have been raised from the dead. Fear would have stopped Jairus from receiving the miracle he needed. Fear tolerated will stop God from working in your life.
Hebrews 11:1 King James Version (KJV) 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is something that you are "hoping for". Faith is something that is good or desirable. Fear is just the opposite. Fear is something bad or undesirable. Fear is something you do not want. Which one do you have more confidence in? Do you have more confidence in the things that are good and desirable or the things that bad and undesirable. Let me give you an example.
What was your reaction when you heard that the US was going to war? Did you think to yourself "this will be good..." or "this will be bad...". When you hear the news do you tend to think about how this will be good or do you tend towards how it will be bad? Faith is optimistic and positive. Fear is pessimistic and negative. Faith believes the best and fear worries about the worst. So be strong and courageous and live a life of faith.
Speak the Word:Father, I will not be afraid. I will not worry or be anxious about anything. I believe that God will keep His Word.
