Romans 12:1 New International Version (NIV) 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
Have you found yourself out of control? Is there this sin or some habit that no matter how hard you try you can not stop doing it? Does it seem like you have no control over yourself? Are you doing those things you do not want to do? Well God has provided you with a way out. It starts with your thinking. You have to renew your mind.
Romans 12:2 New Living Translation (NLT) 2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
Ok, so how do you change the way you think? By thinking about something different. If you want to overcome those sins and habits you will need to change the way you think by thinking about the Word of God. Start by taking Romans 12:1 (above) and thinking about everything it means for you and your life. Break it down into small pieces, "pleasing to God" for example. Think about every thing that piece could possible mean to you. Mutter it over and over and over. Think about the key words and look them up in a bible dictionary or research out the Greek/Hebrew word it came from. By investing your time into the Word of God you will receive a life you love. A life that is free from every sin and habit that so easily weighs us down.
Speak the Word: Father, My body is a living sacrifice. I offer my body to God to be used to fulfill His dream and purposes in the earth. I surrender my right to live for myself so that I can live for God. This is an act of love and worship towards God. This pleases God.
